Acrobat Std X from DELL - How To Get The Disk

Dell is shipping just cards with the serial numbers, and making it pretty hard to get the media if a reinstall is needed. But there is an answer. Go to the following site and be on the Dell computer which the license is for. After an ActiveX scans your pc for appropriateness, you will be directed to a page to download software you are entitled to. Takes a while, but there is a way.

Dell's Smart Source Page for Software

Many thanks to the good people who hashed this problem out over at the Adobe forum. I know I called Dell Customer Service, and the folks there tried but didn't have any working answers.

GMail SMTP

Reminders

Outbound

smtp.gmail.com

use TLS port 587

or SSL port 465

Recommend: login in to gmail web portal, setup another email account and set as default. Otherwise gmail will stamp your email headed out as from the gmail account.

There are limits of how much email can be sent in a day. Used to be 50. Have seen mention of 500. So for very heavy use, consider something else.

Inbound

pop.gmail.com

user name = user@gmail.com

SSL

port 995

Seagate External Drives

Unfortunately, whereas previously most of Seagate's external drives had 3 or 5 year warranties, they are sadly slipping down to offering only 1 and 2 year warranties.

Older models if you can find them might still have the 5 year kind.

Also, the hardy Expansion drive has been reduced (!) to 1 year warranty.
