Surface RDP (DPI) Scaling Issues
Solutions, possibly
Change Surface "Display" settings first, and also RDP Display properties
OR
Change a registry setting and set an external manifest
Note: name it "mstsc.exe.manifest" and put it into System32 folder..
Related discussion involving Adobe...and...manifests
OR
Use Remote Desktop Connection Manager
Also a Spiceworks thread says to change a Compatibility tab setting (to uncheck dpi scaling) also
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1430687-screen-resolution-in-remote-desktop-on-surface-4-pro
Note, MS weighs in

Stop:
Windows Modules Installer service
Move/Ren/Del files in

Reminder re VSSWriters
In elevated CMD prompt:
Run the command: “vssadmin list writers”. This will display the state of any VSS-aware application writers.
If any of the VSS-aware application writers are in an unstable state:
Troubleshoot the individual writer and error.
For Server 2003 or earlier only: Manually reset the state of the VSS writers.

Palm Software Movements
Check the following posts when trying to locate Palm software
https://www.dejaoffice.com/forums/showthread.php?3669-Hang-On-To-Your-Palm-Install-CDs-and-Palm-Desktop-install-Files
https://www.dejaoffice.com/forums/showthread.php?3669-Hang-On-To-Your-Palm-Install-CDs-and-Palm-Desktop-install-Files
- A new company now has the rights to the Palm name and logo and has a placeholder web site called mynewpalm.com. They have also taken possession of the palm.com domain and any link with palm.com redirects to mynewpalm.com. The unintended consequence of this (unintended as in, no one was paying attention) is that (I believe) *all* of the Palm downloads on the HPwebos.com Palm archive pages now do nothing more than redirect you to mynewpalm.com. This is because HOP still had those downloads mapped to the palm.com domian, but the masters of the internet have switched the tracks so to speak. So you can still find the Palm archive pages at HP (they were mapped to the hpwebos.com, although for some pages you have grab the page url and change "palm.com" to "hpwebos.com"-- sadly, this latter trick does not work for downloads).
Just though folks would like to know. Hang on to those backed up installation files if you are still using Palm Desktop. Many 3rd party sites that offer them for download used the palm.com links. CNET does have a download of Palm Desktop 6.2.
